Yield: 12 cake pops

Beautiful little cake pops, or cake pups if you will. These cake pop puppies are so cute you’ll have a hard time eating them after.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Bake the cake according to directions, cool and crumble.
  2. Add a 1/4 cup Pillsbury milk chocolate frosting and mix together with hand mixer. (If needed, add a little more frosting until it easily sticks together), and roll into cake balls.
  3. Roll and cut teardrop shapes from black fondant. Two for each cake pup.
  4. Place black ear on foam and press with Wilton ball roller to make the shape.
  5. Add sticks to each cake pop.

  7. Next, roll out more black fondant and cut small hearts. (Nose) One for each cake pup. Use the top of the grass pastry tip and press little whiskers in the nose.
  8. Now it’s time to make the little tongues, roll and cut teardrop shapes from red fondant. One for each pup. Press down the middle of each tongue to shape.
  9. Dip each cake pup in melted white candy melts.
  10. Add a red gummy lifesaver for collar.
  11. Add a dot of frosting and attach the eyes.
  12. Add another dot and attach the nose, add dot to top of nose and add a black sixlet and pipe a little frosting under the nose.
  13. Add the tongue under the nose.
  14. Add a couple more dots of frosting and add the ears.
  15. Finish by piping white frosting with the grass tip for fur.
  16. (Optional) Add a fondant bow.
