Perfect Night in at Home

What do you like to do at night after the children are all fast asleep and you finally find yourself having some ‘me’ time, whatever that may be? Do you have a particular routine at night, or just see what happens?

My idea of the perfect night in is to have my friends over and have a few drinks, play a few games, chat and all eat dessert, but that’s not possible all the time so I’m going for the second best, the perfect night in alone (or with your partner).

For me, I like to snuggle down with the giant man-baby on the sofa complete with a blanket to snuggle and watch a movie. That means it’s also time to bust out the confectionery. Chocolate bars (when did those peanut butter Kit Kat’s arrive? Love), baked goodies, desserts and basically anything that’s laced in sugar. And I love to wash it all down with my favourite drink, Cherry Coke.

As I previously mentioned before, I’ve been known as ‘The Queen of Coke’ for some time now (we’re talking about the beverage here, just so we’re clear n’ all, mmmkay?) It’s just one of those drinks that I drink everyday and don’t get fed up (like I do with other unnamed beverages *cough* lemonade *cough*. Sometimes even Malibu ends up into my Coke too. I never know how it ends up in there.

Are you one of those people that can’t resist picking up extras in your shop? Dude, I’m so guilty of that. Let’s take Boots for an example. I went in for the ‘night in’ Coca-cola beverages and some confectionary and went home with…

  • 2 bottles of coke, I couldn’t just buy selfishly, ya know? And they were on offer.
  • 4 lots of confectionary. That’s when I realised Kit Kat now do peanut butter flavour. How I love you.
  • 1 new toothbrush (on half price offer) – After all that confectionary, my toothbrush will pack its cartoon-esq bindle and walk out on me. I’m going to need a better one. In to the basket you go.
  • 1 pack of hair dye – I’ve been growing out my last ‘growth’ for the past 4-5 months, I wanted to go back to red. The giant man-baby disagrees, he wins.. into the basket too.

Yes, I’m weak! I also love to read dessert related books and my brand spanking new copy of Sprinkle Bakes arrived today. But of course I can’t leave out baking and blogging too. I even love all the technicalities of running my blog, the designs and such too. Such a geek!

So that’s pretty much a good night in with the giant-man baby.

And one final thought for the night, don’t ever wear ‘skate’ trainers (sneakers) in snow/icy conditions. Those bad boys are dangerous!

Me and Joshua had a nice night in last night. It began to snow so I whipped up a stir fry and we got cozy with new episodes of 30 Rock and Parks & Recreation. :D Though for ME time it means gluing my face to Pinterest and eating lots of cookies ;)

And glad you cleared up your "Queen of Coke" nickname heehee ;)

Ahh, the feeling when a night alone is perfect is the best! Have no regrets about the coke, we all have our food obsessions.

I usually try REALLY hard to resist extras when I'm shopping, but sometimes I have a weak moment. I'm jealous that you have the Sprinklebakes book. Can't wait to see if something inspires you!

    Have a good week Lisa!
