Yield: 1 slushie

Summer Fruits Slushie

Summer Fruits Slushie

This summer fruits flavoured slushie is the perfect way to beat the heat this summer. Quick and easy to make at home. You and your kids will love these slushies.

Prep Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp boiling water
  • 260g (9.2 oz) ice cubes
  • 4 tbsp summer fruits cordial (squash), see notes

Instructions

  1. In a cup, mug or small jug, add the sugar and boiling water and stir continuously until the sugar has completely dissolved. Set aside until it is just luke warm or cooler. See notes for time-saving method.
  2. Once the syrup has cooled enough, add the summer fruits cordial to the syrup, then pour the ice in the blender.
  3. Add the syrup over the ice and blend until the correct consistency. If you find small cubes in the slushie, just use a spoon to push them down to the bottom and blend again. Sometimes shaking the blender gently will help too.
  4. Pour into a frozen or chilled glass and enjoy.

Notes

Notes:

  • I have used double concentrated cordial in this recipe. If you use regular strength squash, double to amount to 8 tbsp, or to taste.
  • If you don’t want to wait for the syrup to cool, use some of the ice in the syrup to cool it down quickly. However, this results in a more watery slushy - just add a touch more ice if necessary.
  • Need more than one glass? This recipe works when doubled, or even tripled! I tripled the recipe myself for my 3 children. Just ensure your blender is big enough first. πŸ™‚

They look delish!!! how can you keep them cold?? and slushie like? i have to sell them and im not sure how to keep them do i pre make them or what? i could just make them on the day but.... ????!!!!

Hi, I haven't tried to keep them cold as they were made and enjoyed immediately after. What you could do is to make a large batch and seal them in ziplock bags in the freezer (or use dry ice), then remove them 5-10 minutes prior to serving and use your hands to squish back to a slushie consistency in the bag, and serve.

If you're using my recipe to sell, I'd recommend that you at least credit my blog when selling, so your customers are aware where the recipe is from. I hope that helps. Thanks for stopping by.

It also works with a bit of vodka or white rum instead of sugar πŸ₯΄πŸ˜‰

This is just what I need today - it's going to be a hot one!

I think I've needed one of these every day since I posted this recipe. Might have to adapt it into a body lotion instead, it's so hot.

      Thanks Kim.

Did you try it yet Tash? I remember carrying my first born all throughout the summer. She was born in October, but I remember that year it was still hot in October still. I feel you. Hopefully you've tried one [or several] and they're helping you.

      Thanks for stopping by, Tash.

They definitely help keep you cool and if all else fails, just adapt into a frozen body butter. Now there's an idea!

      Thanks Jess.

Hehe, thanks Ella. Now I'm complaining it's too hot, eh? It's the humidity here in the house though.

Doesn't have to be summer to enjoy frozen goodies, I had ice cream in December!

Lisa, this looks so refreshing! Definitely trying it today! It's been so hot in socal -- 100 degrees! -- that I just invested in a shaved ice machine and I'm so excited to try everything! I'll probably even add some margarita for a little fun! :D
